Staff Accountant 

A trusted company with a 24-year track record of consistently delivering the highest quality products and services while exceeding our customers’ expectations is currently seeking an accounting assistant who can grow with the company! Our client provides custom artwork, decorative and backlit mirrors, and sliding barn doors to the Hospitality and Healthcare markets.
 
The staff accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting and bookkeeping functions including invoicing, A/R follow-up, payment deposits, credit card statements, processing A/P invoices, handling freight claims, and generating internal management reports. 

Responsibilities (to include but not limited to the following):
  • Balance and maintain accurate ledgers
  • Match purchase orders with invoices
  • Coordinate bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to management
  • Monitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receipts
  • Pay vendor invoices and track bank account balances
  • Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Prepare quarterly and monthly tax returns, along with payroll, operating and business taxes
Essential skills:
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks
  • Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxes
  • Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • Ability to operate calculator, computer, and other general office equipment.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting, but must be able to do a manual set of books.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
 
Experience:
·         Minimum of FIVE years responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and financial reports.
Education:
·         Some college preferred. Experience is key. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field WILL SET YOU APART.
